"ToneMaster" Custom 381

Dick Gonia sent this photo (above) of his rare restored Custom 381. He just finished restoring it this last summer ' 97. Here is the before photo (side).
Custom 381 before restoration

The Estey Organ Co. manufactured the "ToneMaster" Line of amps and this model Custom 381 for the Imperial Accordion Co. of Chicago. Its circuit is simular to the Custom 480. It has 2 channels(each with high and low gain) and a stereo input. Preamp tubes are 12AX7's, vibrato is created by the 6CG7 and a 12BH7 to amplify the oscillator. It has the same "mellow" and "bright" switch and remote speaker jacks. Twin 12AU7's do the phase inverting for the four original 6973 power tubes labeled "Estey". Stereo 12" Oxford #12L5N-1 speakers(date code: 465-045) and two 5"x7" midrange speakers. I think Dick did a fine job recovering this amp from ruin and obscurity.

For Sale

"For Sale ToneMaster" Custom 381Nice Tonemaster Custom 381. It's been completely serviced and is all original from 1961. This one doesn't have reverb and comes with footswitch for the vibrato. It's a one owner amp and the only thing that was needed for it was a new bias circuit. The caps were good, the speakers are original Oxfords and the amp is in 8.5/10 condition.
