. . . . 1962 catalog hype

Model RVB-1

Jeff Morris sent this photo of his Magnatone RVB-1. I have always been curious about this creature. It was manufactured in Torrance, California. What are the details? I don't have a schematic but maybe we can talk Jeff into taking it apart and telling us more. In the meantime here is some more catalog hype from 1962.

The Magnatone Reverb Power Pack operates parallel to the amplifier adding a new magnitude in sound. The RVB-1 picks up each instrumental signal and passes it through to the amplifier producing a vibrant reverberated sound with hi-fidelity stereo quality. The RVB-1 handy control dial permits the intrumentalist to vary the intensity from zero to a full 1.8 seconds of reverberation. There are 5 jacks, 1 for connecting to the amplifier, high or low, 1 for the foot switch, 1 for connecting to the instrument, high or low. Self-powered by 2 standard 9-volt batteries eliminating the inconvenience of an additional line cord. The standard transistorized batteries provide months of constant perfect operation. Original list price new in 1962 $59.50

Dimensions: 9 1/2-inches long, 6 1/2-inches high, 4 1/2-inches deep. Shipping weight: under 5-lbs.
