PAS 150 Power Tower

This photo of the PAS 150 is from Chris Martin. The PS 150 is part of a complete PA 300 system, some of the earliest portable PA systems. It is part of Magnatone's Brute Sound of solid state amps from the late 1960's. side view of PAS 150 Power TowerIt has four 12-inch, Magnatone Custom designed, Eminence speakers. The power amps are built in to the speaker cabinets and you could daisy-chain them for more power. They claimed a very low distortion of 4%. The cabinet also has four ducted-ports for extended low frequency response. The cabinet has a removable grill with the speakers mounted from the front and recessed pocket handles built in. These cabinets have the Magnatone "Exclusive Profile" (see photo right) that was specially designed to fit in a car trunk. I have tried putting it in the car trunk, but it takes two people to lift it.
