Pac-Amp Model 382
When I was in Houston, Texas this last summer, Bill Liles brought this Pac-Amp Custom Model 382 back stage before the show. I couldn't believe my eyes. It looks just like the Magnatone model 280A. After examining it I discovered it was a 280A in diguise. It was made by Estey Electronics Inc., Torrance, Calif. and has two channels preamp'd by 12AX7's and Stereo vibrato, which make this collectable. It also uses 6CG7's for the vibrato and a 12BH7 for an oscillator amplifier. Half a 12AX7 and half 6CG7 do the Phase inverting. Four 6973 Power tubes drive the twin 12" Oxford #12L5N-1 speakers (date code: 465-109 and magnet #4605) along with two, #4609, 3" Tweeters.
