This photo of the MC 100 Master Control is from Chris Martin. The MC 100 is part of the PA 300 and PA 600 complete PA systems. These are some of the earliest portable PA systems (see small photo right). It is part of Magnatone's Brute Sound of solid state amps from the late 1960's. The MC 100 is an all transistor design. It has 6 high impedance input/channels. Each of the 6 channels has volume and tone control, with a reverb switch, for the built-in spring reverb. The MC 100 has a Master Gain with Bass and Treble controls, Reverb Drive and Depth, and Magnatones exclusive variable low-frequency filter. The filter consists of 3 different switchable capacitors, in series, to block low frequencies. The MC 100's mixed Audio output signal was then fed to either a pair of PAS 150 or PAS 300 powered speakers. The MC 100 also has a footswitch for the reverb on/off, 4 detachable chrome-steel tapered legs, and a convenient vinyl carring case. Dimensions: 10 x 25 x 29-inches, Weight: 25-lbs.
