The "Victory" Model Custom 460A was introduced in 1962, by the Estey Organ Co. It seems identical to the Model 460 and I don't know what makes them different. Owners of this model may notice date codes on certain parts from 1961, meaning the parts and possibly the amp were made in late '61, Dealers didn't start displaying it in the stores until spring of '62. Notice the "Estey" logo in the right hand corner of the speaker grill. These logos fall off and are rare. Here is a list of tubes from the chart inside the cabinet, 5U4GB rectifier, two 6L6GC beam pentode power tubes, two 12AX7's, two 6CG7's, two 6EU7's, one 6DR7. Here is the other specifics for this amp. Speakers: 2 12" Oxford model 12K5R-7 (code 465-232), and 2 5x7 midrange speakers. Power transformer: 20-0004 and 606221 stamped on metal side cover.
Original List Price: $399.95
Previous owner was Scottie Moore (1972-1995). In 1972, Scottie traded a Gibson 400 amp that he used to play with Elvis and a Fender reverb tank for the Magnatone. Ron bought the amp from him in 1995.
Recordings made with this amp are: "706 ReUnion" by Carl Perkins & Scottie Moore, and "Moore Good Feel Good Music" by Scottie Moore with Willie Ransford, Tracy Nelson, Carl Perkins, D.J. Fontana & The Jordanaires.
